Ramped Weekend Jam 01 - 2011: Photos

Pictures from Ramped

I have not forgotten about pictures from Ramped and will pursue this again tomorrow night. AJ has done a video which he has put on his Facebook site so I will try to get a link to this. Tim also has some good pictures, but with working part time for Shropshire Youth, his other work has kept him very busy and little time to post pictures

The session on Wednesday evening at Holbache road could be the first one of the year outdoors, (evening session that is). With the clocks changing it should stay lighter longer and give us time to set up the ramps. Lets hope the weather stays good!!!!!!

Ramped in Oswestry - Sunday 20th March

Ramped returned home on Sunday with the mobile ramps being set up alongside the Centre ramps outside our Holbache road base. Despite being overcast and some light rain early on, riding took place with the area drying up quickly. A number of people who turned up in Ellesmere also turned up for this session alongside regular members of the club here in Oswestry.
It had a laid back feel to the session here, I don't know whether that was because everyone was tired from riding all weekend or just that it was home turf and people were happy to be here.
As usual the group made the best use of the ramps to make a set up which was different to that they were used to riding, therefore offering some new challenges.
I need to look into getting some pictures onto the blog as I am guessing people are wanting to see what went on.
The Oswestry Group meets again at Holbache on Wednesday (6pm) so hopefully I can arrange to get hold of some pictures then. I know that Tim and AJ were taking photos and videos so might be able to get stuff off them.

Ramped hits the road again in 2011

After a winter break, the Ramped project took to the road again this weekend starting in Ellesmere on Friday and Saturday.
On Friday evening we joined the Area 51 crew in Ellesmere Market hall. We erected the ramps alongside those belonging to Area 51, Thanks go to all the crew for letting us do this.
On Saturday we had the usual format of a beginners session, followed by an Open session and finishing off with competitions.
Apart from the riders the location in the Centre of Ellesmere attracted quite a few passers by, calling in to find out just what Ramped has to offer those who take part. Loads of compliments  - thanks for these it gives us a real buzz to know that people are interested and can see what this offers people.
We had two new elements to the operation of the roadshow this time. Aaron bought along his tools and offered a maintenance corner to carry out minor repairs. Lynne joined us to help us deliver a tuc shop serving up some great hot dogs, drinks and the like.
Ramped t shirts have now also been produced and these could be seen on a number of the riders, clearly gaining in popularity.
So a good start. Pictures to follow and on to Oswestry for the next session at Holbache tomorrow. Lets hope for reasonable weather as this one is outdoors. See you soon.
