Open Activity Session at Holbache Road

This Saturday Oswestry Town Youth Project which hosts the Ramped project is holding an Open Activity session at The Centre, Holbache road. The session will include opportunity for riding ramps and running alongside it will be graffiti art and DJ workshops. The session kicks off at 2pm so if you can make it come along and meet members of the Ramped team and ride the ramps.
You can also view the latest developments for the BMX dirt jumps at the Leisure Centre. The group has been working on a model to present to the team managing the scheme. We would love to have your views and ideas so come along and have a look.
The Ramped team operate a regular session in Oswestry on a Wednesday evening and are currently looking at a number of projects other than the Dirt jumps at the Leisure Centre. If you want to get involved come along to Holbache road from 18.30 on most Wednesdays. We are looking at a number of trips to other skateparks, so it would probably be best to give us a ring on 01691654175 to check if we are about before turning up.
I will post some pictures of the model that is being built soon so come back and check them out.

News from Oswestry

The local Skate and BMX group which meets on a Wednesday evening from 6.30 at The Centre, Holbache Road is looking to work with other Council Departments to build Dirt Jumps next to the new Leisure Centre. Last week members of the group met with Shaun Burkey, Countryside and Conservation officer to have a look at the site the ramps will be built on. Contractors have made soil available and a digger is likely to be available to move the soil. Shaun also talked to us about lanscaping the area and putting in furniture alongside the area.

Tonight the group starts planning the ramps. We would like to get the ramps built before Christmas and therefore we need to move quick.

Ramped at Blackberry Fair Whitchurch

Well Frustrated! After considerable efforts to ensure this session went ahead, and with DJ workshops looking to operate alongside the Ramped session, the Ramps didn't turn up!!
To all those that helped to arrange this and to those who had turned up to ride the ramps, I can only apologise. Unfortunately the driver who was to deliver the ramps was called out to a Fire (He is a retained fire fighter) and therefore the ramps remained locked away.
By the time we had established what was happening it was too late to get the ramps to Whitchurch and set them up for people to ride.
Naturally we are looking at ways to get round this in the future to make sure people are not left disappointed.
We will be looking to organise another session in Whitchurch, and will keep you informed of progress.
